After 5 long years, Gen Z’s King of Pop Music, Harry Styles, made his grand return to the music industry, giving fans a brand new soundtrack to illuminate their lives.

On March 6 Harry Styles released “Kiss All The Time Disco, Occasionally.” The British heartthrob is an artist known for his up-beat anthems, and lyrical songwriting depth. Styles took to the studio after his latest pop album, “Harry’s House” pivoting from his previous work, and reinvent himself yet again. Styles’ new style consists of techno heavy, disco-infused, energetic and groovy vibes, surpassing all of his prior projects. While some try to compare Styles’ new taste to previous music legends such as David Bowie, and Joni Mitchell, Harry’s vibe is truly unique and state of the art in the music industry.

Aperture: The 1st single off of Harry Styles’ new album, established the atmosphere of Harry’s fourth studio album. Aperture is a synthy- Jersey beat dance banger, paired with vulnerable lyrics, concerning the idea of self discovery, and “letting the light in.” The song was an excellent comeback song, as his lyrics dedicated to his fans “We Belong Together,” symbolize Harry’s return to not just music, but his fans as well. 

American Girls: The 2nd track off Styles’ album Kiss All The Time Disco, Occasionally, is a summer anthem, carrying the infamous and desirable 90s beat. American Girls is a fun, synthpop song that disguises the deeper meaning behind Style’s lyrics. Behind the fun dancing beats, American Girls talks about the feeling of loneliness, and isolation in comparison to others finding love. The duality that exists within Harry’s music leaves fans endlessly entertained, as his songs have deeper layers with each listen. 

Ready, Steady, Go!: The 3rd track of  Harry’s latest album left listeners speechless, as the pop artist dove head first into the techno beat, utilizing a LCD soundsystem to compose this song.  Ready, Steady, Go! is an upbeat, and exotic song that brings the energy, encouraging listeners to get up and dance. The energetic song symbolizes the thrilling adrenaline rush that takes place when falling head over heels into a relationship.

Are You Listening Yet?: The 4th Track off of Styles’ 4th Studio Album follows closely in the footsteps of “Ready, Steady, Go!” As the song is strongly equipped with heavy bass-lines and high energy vibes. Track four carries themes of self-reflection, symbolizing the ongoing battle with the inner voice inside of you, calling for change, such as self – improvement.

Taste Back: The 5th track of Styles’ new album brings fans a sense of familiarity as the pop song sounds like an extension of Harry’s previous work. While the previous tracks focused predominantly on the musical beat, and exotic sounds, Taste Back is a song that focuses heavily on the lyricalism to carry the song. Taste Back is a catchy tune that balances the aspect of yearning for what once was, while still carrying the self respect for oneself. As the chorus reveals the question of “Did they get their Taste Back or do they just need a little love?” 

The Waiting Game: The 6th track off the new album progresses off of Track 5, as the song deals with emotional ideas of waiting for the person you love, although it “always amounts to nothing.” Styles’ continues to show off his extensive  song writing depth in his recent album, reminding fans that his old songwriting skills have not been placed on the shelf to collect dust. 

Season 2 Weight Loss: Moving onto track 7, Harry Styles’ created the perfect blend of his new techno party style with his old writing habits, and deep moving lyrics. This song provides the perfect balance for fans to enjoy an upbeat song, while still being able to resonate and feel the deeper meaning the song articulates. 

Coming Up Roses: This heartfelt ballad, that provides fans with a beautifully orchestrated love song that carries undertones of melancholy, as it channels the underlying message that “Not everything has to last forever, in order for it to be special.”  Track 9 shares deeply intimate, and emotionally moving lyrics paired with a 39 – piece orchestra that captures the true essences of the fear, rawness, and vulnerability that comes with falling in love.

Dance No More: Moving back into the 80’s inspiration, track 10 is a groovy, vibey, feel good song. Ironically, Dance No More will have listeners swaying on their feet to the rhythm of Styles’ disco-infused song. The meaning behind track 10, is to explore the feeling of freedom. Dance No More encourages fans to dance like no one’s watching, and experience the fulfillment that comes from being care-free.

Paint By Number: Track 11 is a Beatles inspired song that discusses the similarities between living one’s life and “painting by number.”  While on a more personal level, fans believe it a metaphor to Styles life, as he sings about his experiences of living in the spotlight, and yearning to live an authentic and easy life, that is equivalent to “painting by number.” This Beatles’ inspired ballad creates a peaceful, flowy, atmosphere that is enjoyable for all listeners. 

Carla’s Song: To end the album, Styles’ featured Track 12 to symbolize the power music has, and the gratification that sparks in musical discovery.
