No-Shave November

Aidan Harmer

No-Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness.  The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing  hair, which many cancer patients lose.

This year, the student council at Hawthorne High School held two competitions including “Best Beard” and “Wittiest Whiskers.” Whichever competitor accumulated the most money was declared the winner. The money made was donated to research towards prostate cancer.

Both the “Best Beard” and the “Wittiest Whiskers” competitions were composed of extremely talented fields, including both staff and students.

Mr. Van Winkle came out on top in this year’s “Best Beard” competition.

Jared Chichizola ended up winning the “Wittiest Whiskers” competition.
