It feels like everyone has a furry friend in their homes…but where do animals go that don’t have homes? Animal Alliance is the key to the safety and housing of these animals with no homes.
Who are they? Founded in 2001 as a welfare organization they began rehabilitating and rescuing animals that are in need of our help. Animal Alliance focuses mostly on animals facing euthanasia, cruelty and abuse. They also give access to lost cost basic animal care including spaying and neutering. They do all of this to keep pets and animals out of shelters and in loving and caring homes.
Who are their partners? Being a non-profit organization having partnerships with many different companies and organizations are extremely important. So, who are their partners?
Veterinary Partners
- Belle Mead Animal Hospital
- Nassau Animal Hospital
Emergency and Specialty Care
- Red Bank Veterinarians Hospital
Adoption Partners
- Dogs and Cats Rule
- PetSmart
- FatDogFoto
Without these different companies backing and supporting the shelter it would be almost impossible to run.
Their Impact: They have been serving NJ for more than 20+ years giving dogs and cats homes and basic vet care. Each year they place 500-700 animals in new homes. Over those years almost 20,000 animals have been Spayed or Neutered which helps fight animal overpopulation.
How can you help? Being a non-profit that means many of the workers are volunteer. The staff at the shelter is limited so during the day they ask volunteers to come in and play, walk, and hangout with the animals and if your feeling generous you can even foster. While adopting may not be free it is worth it. Below is a list of many of the different polices and what comes in with the adoption fees. This will be taken right from there website: Animal Alliance
Step 1: Find your pet and apply
You’ll find many amazing animals ready for adoption through Animal Alliance. View profiles of our pets on PetFinder or get up close and personal with furry friends by attending an adoption event.
When you’ve met your match, fill out an application. Only approved applications will be contacted to set up a meeting with the animal.
Step 2: Meet the family and take your pet home
Once your application is approved, you will be contacted by our adoption coordinator to set up an appointment to meet the pet. If you are adopting a dog, all members of your household—including dogs you currently own—need to meet your prospective pet at our center before the adoption can be completed. If all goes well, your newly adopted pet will go home with you that day.
Important Adoption Policies
- Animal Alliance does not adopt adult dogs into households with children under 9 years of age due to the risk of bites. Puppies nine months of age or younger are able to be adopted into households with young children ages 4 and older. We do not adopt to families with children 3 years and younger or expectant families due to the safety risk for infants and toddlers.
- We do not adopt cats or kittens to families who intend to declaw them, due to the behavioral problems that can result.
- We adopt cats as indoor pets only, due to the high rate of injury to outdoor cats.
