Hawthorne High School will say goodbye to our beloved Ms. Russo this month. Sadly, after 22 good years spent working here, she will pass the brush to the next art teacher as she pursues another profession. This has come as a shock to the HHS community, however, we know she will continue to thrive in her next job.

For many years, people have compared Ms. Russo to Lady Gaga. Now, as she closes the door of room 121, Ms. Russo will venture into a whole new world – the entertainment industry. As of April 6, Ms. Russo will be taking on the role of Lady Gaga’s stunt double for her role of Harley Quinn in her new movie Joker 2

Russo was discovered through the social media platform TikTok. At the beginning of the year, student council members couldn’t help but notice her uncanny resemblance to the Pop Star. Emily Barbire, Ava Iovino, and the other members decided to make a satirical video claiming that Russo was none other than Gaga’s doppelganger.

To their surprise, the video blew up on the app, getting noticed by the casting directors of Joker 2. After reaching out to Russo, they landed her on the job.

Although art has been the sole passion of Ms. Russo for most of her life, she is ready to focus on a new path in her life. She has been training for this role for the past few months and is ecstatic to start production next week.

With minimal experience in the field, Russo told the Clarion that she is “nervous to start filming, but confident that I will be able to pull it off.”

There is no telling when Ms. Russo will return to Hawthorne High School. We wish her the best of luck on her exciting new journey.
