Moana, the new Walt Disney animated film exceeded expectations during the five day Thanksgiving weekend by making over 81.1 Million and was the number one film at the box office. According to Foxnews.com, “Moana scored the second highest Turkey Day debut ever…Frozen, from 2013, still holds the record with 93.6 million.”

Disney has created such wide diversity throughout the years with all the princesses and now they have created the first Polynesian Princess.

The plot for the film is simple enough for kids to understand, and yet is still fun for adults. As a young child  Moana was always intrigued with the water but never thought it meant anything…but soon it will mean everything to her. As this adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people, she becomes stronger.

She must find the demigod Maui (actor The Rock), who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the ocean on an voyage, encountering enormous monsters and challenges in order to save the world and return the heart of Tre Fiti to its rightful place.

Moana has become a role model that many boys and girls look up to due to her nationality and her strength.
