It’s that time of year again, the time to write stories for the Empyrean!

The Empyrean, the Creative Writing Club’s magazine, is currently being prepared by all the club members, for its full release in June. At this time in the story development stage, there are often trips to the library, and there will even be a club field trip in the future. For example, the writers have used the makerspace virtual reality goggles to find inspiration and gather visual details they can use in their work. The material written for the magazine is not only limited to short stories and poems, but other projects and ideas are accepted such as comics and group writing pieces. All grades are welcome to participate and write for the magazine that will be released at the end of the school year..

Leading up to the release of the Empyrean, the club holds fundraisers and events to raise funds, promote the magazine, and inspire the writers. In April, the Creative Writing Club holds the Poetry Day event and a field trip is being planned. Soon the club will also have an author meetup to discuss writings and books, as well as have the opportunity to purchase this author’s book. The goal of these events is to inspire creativity, spread the effect on others, and to discuss with other successful authors and story writers for advice.

There’s still time to write for the Empyrean, and publish your creativity. At this stage in the writing process, the club members and adviser, Ms. Fiorilla, work together to edit the pieces and write new ones to fill up the pages of the magazine.

This year the magazine will be published online. New members are welcome to write even in this stage of the process, as well as help in the development of this year’s online edition. If you like to write, and if you are looking for a writing group to help finalize your pieces, then this is the club for you!
